Zip Collar Looks For The Office

I can’t back this up with numbers, but my gut instinct tells me that office dress codes are becoming less and less strict. I say this partly out of my own experiences. If I had dressed the way I do today thirty years ago at the company I work for, HR would no doubt have given me a warning. Today, no one gives a f*ck.

Still, some people have a need to look “nice” at the office, whether it be because of dress codes or for other reasons. This generally means avoiding items deemed too casual like jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, sneakers, etc.

So, let’s explore some looks that might fit the bill, but still have a modern edge to them. As I hate b*ttons (I even hate the word), we will only look at outfits with zips, and of course; big zip collars! The collars on these outfits will offer lots of styling options. If you, for example, need to look more conservative, you can quickly give yourself a high turtleneck!

Full zip front cardigan:

The same cardigan but with a turtleneck underneath:

Leather pants, half-zip front top:

This one I really like. Zipping the collar partway up gives her this strict, but cool look. If a female teacher had entered the classroom looking like this when I was at school, I would have instantly j*zzed my pants.

Dresses are an option. In this case a full zip front one:

Maybe a skirt with a zip top?

Technically a trench coat (that’s what the seller calls it), I think this could quite easily pass for a dress; a very feminine dress, but with an, dare I say it, “edge”. The collar certainly ups the coolness.

Or you can get yourself a *really* expensive tracksuit. If anyone questions your outfit; you can say that it’s Gucci, handmade in Italy, and in all likelihood cost a lot more than their business suit.
