So we are taking a look at the Adidas Elongated Rib Bomber Jacket for women today.
I love bombers; it’s the style of jacket I always go for (you can stuff your parkas up your bum :-)). While I like the “skinhead” style bomber jacket (tip: wear those with high neck track jackets zipped all the way up for a cool look), I will always prefer jackets with zip collars and this jacket has one.
Features:
Available in black (Adidas product code GU1768) and “ambient blush” (GU1769).
Lightly padded. Would work well for spring and fall use and on chillier summer days. Depending on where you live of course.
Roomy fit, but you can probably step down a size if you want a more normal fit.
The jacket is longer at the back. I suppose this will keep the bum a bit warmer, but it’s mostly for style, I would think.
Two front pockets with zips. Will fit a large phone.
One inner pocket (which snaps shut). Too small for my phone, but will fit a wallet, no problem.
Ribbed cuffs. They are quite long (good for keeping the hands warm), but can be folded once for more normal looking cuffs.
Ribbed stand up collar. This will depend on how long your neck is, but the collar comes up to just under the tip of my nose, when I zip it all the way up. Will be great for keeping the neck and lower face warm on chillier days.
Ring zip pull with an Adidas trefoil at the bottom.
Nit picking time: The zipper on my jacket doesn’t extend all the way to the tips of the collar, there’s a slight “gap”. This may or may not bother you and it’s probably not present on all jackets.
Verdict: This jacket gets a definite buy recommendation. This site has a predominantly male audience, so I’ll say what I always say when I review items meant for females; if you have a girl/woman in your life, be it girlfriend/wife/daughter/granddaughter, who’s into casual/streetwear clothing, this would make a great gift.
Would I, as a male, wear it? No, the long back in particular, makes it a bit too feminine looking for my taste. However, I will be keeping the jacket (it’s going into my collection).
You can get the jacket with a discount at the moment as it’s on its way out. I paid about 100 euros for mine, but you can get it for less than that at some places right now.
