As someone who has always disliked/hated buttons and has never really* worn any clothes with them, I loved these when I grew up. They are really versatile:
- Keep the collar down and it sort of mimics a shirt collar, if that’s ever needed.
- Zip the collar into a turtleneck.
- Zip the collar into a stand up neck.
Tip: If you are looking for a zip neck shirt today, search for “Jil Sander Zip Neck”.
*) The number of times I’ve worn something with buttons add up to less than the number of fingers on my two hands! This does not include the buttons on jeans, since I’m basically fine with them.
