What Tools Do I Use To Generate Pictures?

Got a question in a message asking what program I use to generate pictures and what prompts I use? Rather than answering it in private, I will answer here for all to see.

I’m experimenting with lots of different tools, but in particular, I have found Google Gemini to be very good at generating photo realistic images. Google Gemini is a cloud based service, so no local installation of any software needed.

Google Gemini

I am on a paid plan so not sure what features you get for free. You may have to upgrade. You may also need to age-verify your Google account to prove that you are an adult to get access to certain features, if you haven’t done so already.

Using Gemini to generate photos is dead simple since Imagen (its image generation tool) understands natural language.

Telling it to: Generate a photo of a young Korean woman with long blonde hair. She is dressed in a tight black leather top with a turtleneck collar and a metal zipper. The collar covers her face all the way up to her eyes.

I get this:

It understands lots of languages in addition to English.

When I told it to (in Swedish): Generera ett porträttfoto av en ung koreansk kvinna med långt rosa hår. Hon är klädd i en tajt marinblå Adidas Originals träningsjacka i polyester. Jackan har en superhög krage som täcker hennes ansikte ända upp till ögonen. Visa henne från sidan.

I got this:

Nice!

You will get different images every time you use the same description. Here are some other images I got (from the same description):

If you don’t get the expected result, try tweaking the description, or add more detail.

Much fun to be had! And be warned: It can be VERY addictive!

Why not share some of your own images, whether you have created them with Gemini or another tool? I’d love to see what other people come up with! You can send them to me using the “Donate Files” function in the menu of this site.
