New addition 20231020: Got a tip (thank you!) about this jacket from R13, a brand of which I had never heard of before. It’s called the “Ripstop Down Liner” and it looks pretty awesome. They’ve obviously given some though to how the collar fits over the face when it’s zipped all the way up – it has a very nice shape to it. Sure, there are lots of jackets with collars that come up over the lower face, but it’s always nice to see jackets with collars that were explicitly designed to be worn as lower face masks. More zip collar masking for the people!
First out: this jacket (or coat, since it’s a bit longer?) from Patou. When I first saw this, I thought it was leather, but it is in fact quilted nylon. Doesn’t matter though, still a cool looking jacket. Love the zippers on the sleeves! Haven’t found any pictures of the jacket with the collar up, but I bet it will look awesome fully zipped up! Think the collar on the jacket above was waaay too short? Then look no further than this Miu Miu coat/jacket! Its official name is the “Technical fabric down coat”. Sometimes the collars on these kinds of jackets are made of wool and may not feel that great against the neck and face when you zip up, but this jacket is listed as being made out of nylon only so the collar will probably feel nice and soft when you do inevitably zip it all the way up. This is an *expensive* coat.

“Because mummy spent all of the money on a new jacket!”
“Nooo.”
“If it’s any consolation, mummy will look really cool and stylish this winter.”

The next jacket is from a brand which I had never heard of before: Walter Baker. The name of the jacket is “Laylah”. Confusingly, there seems to be two jackets called Laylah from Walter Baker, one of which has a significantly shorter collar than the other so make sure you order the jacket with the wide collar pictured below! I’m not really sure if this is made of lamb leather or faux leather (aka plastic); there’s conflicting information, but at only $179.99 (price as of 20231008) it’s a no brainer regardless; this is a cool looking bomber and it seems to have sturdy metal zippers both at the front and on the pockets.
